Every time I sit and watch design show,
Dear Genevieve I get really sad that she isn't in my house helping out. And my disgust usually goes straight to the room we are normally in-the living room. Even though I still have yet to reupholster our wing back chair and ditch our cheapie bookcase, we made a big step towards something I am much happier with. We swapped our old TV stand for a glossy black bamboo dresser.
To be fair, we used to have a much smaller TV up there.
Feels much more grown up.
If anyone knows someone that works on the show, let me know, please!

Love it! More grown up is right...I LOVE that dresser!
I've been a huge fan of Genevieve for years - good luck getting on!
Love the after look! It's amazing how some simple changes can give you an entirely different look!
Looks great!
such an amazing find!
and where on earth did you find that rug??? I love it!
it looks so great! love the new addition!
What a huge difference one piece of furniture makes! I love that TV stand, it is stunning. So unique.
Very nice!!! Love the TV too... so much more sleek than the old school one :P
Oh wow that is beautiful!
i agree it does look grown up. very nice holly.
That is quite a transformation, looks much more organized in the second frame.
I LOVE that rug, where's it from??
hey missy.
become bff with this bloggy lady
Lindsey of The Inside Stoop. She works in programming for HGTV. she pushed my now failed app for emily's show to the top
ps..love your place
the rug is from pottery barn, about 2 years ago.
LOVE it. Looks so good.
I'm sure you follow Genevieve on twitter. Butter her up over there- I always see her responding to fans.
PS-I still have my wingback waiting to be re-upholstered too. I feel like this is the year!
Love the new piece! And I would love to get on her show as well. We have a Jack and Jill bathroom that is just awful.
you should come redo the rooms in my house! you're so good at this!
I love it! ....as for the bookshelves, I literally had the same set, but shorter - and was gonna toss them too but did this {http://www.lovemaegan.com/2010/11/turn-old-wood-shelves-into-chic-mini.html} to them and now I love them. It's supremely easy and will match your new dresser ...for the time being anyway, until you do "ditch" them ;)
love it. I am slightly jealous of your find.
