Jonas' Nursery

Here it is, the big reveal of our little man's room. It was so fun to gather things for his small space and also a bit of a challenge since the room is so darn teeny. As you can see there isn't a theme but just an overall cheery feeling and lots of animal friends.

I hope he loves his room!

garlands galore!

I have been scouring Etsy for a cute garland to hang above the crib for some visual interest for Jonas and to fill up some bare wall. I know buntings and what not have been overdone but here are some that still feel fun and fresh to me. I have been entertaining the idea of making something myself out of paper pinwheels from the wedding, stay tuned!

Getting the nursery all painted! Ironically it was painted light blue, but I wanted it more fresh and open, which is why we went with white. The room is pretty tiny, so it helps to open it up a bit.

While the little girl's clothing department is surely more fun for any woman to shop in, I have been happily surprised by all the vintage little boys clothes on Etsy. It's too bad I don't have the need to dress my guy like a little sailor, because there are tons of those outfits.

I couldn't resist. The vest and tank are on their way to me right now!

While out to dinner with 8 friends, we played a game where you stack up your cell phones in the middle of the table. First person to grab their phone to check it has to pay the whole bill. Nobody lost, but it was nice having everyone phone-free.

Kitchen Storage

I have been looking for a cute container to hold all of the Nespresso cartridges that are so unsightly and keep coming back to colorful vintage tins. I think I could find a place on my counter for one of these cheerful cuties.

If my pennies weren't all going towards a wedding...

Scenes from an anniversary

Yesterday Jon and I celebrated five years of being together. That is starting to really feel like some substantial time! I wonder if we will ditch that all together and start from scratch when we get married and start celebrating our wedding anniversary date? Fun tidbit: Our first date was on 06-06-06!

The card I got for Jon. Cute, huh? Maybe not the best choice for celebrating, say a 6 month mark in a relationship or something like that. 

But for 5 years, anythings game. He loved it.

After drinks, we ended up at Chez Panisse! Where we last were for my birthday, last July. As tempting as it is to hit up this place every year on your birthday, you are then only going to experience one season of food and similar menu choices (as amazing as they are). Even if its only one month difference?, you ask. Yep, because tomatoes are not largely in season yet and you do not find them on the menu yet. But in July, they will be going bananas with the amount of tomatoes on hand.

Some good eats, I don't need to list out every ingredient and what not. 

Just know that they were delicious and if you ever find 

yourself in the Bay Area, this place is a must.

Some wedding tidbits

I had this sweet lil hoop made for me by a.e. wilder to display somewhere at our wedding. Maybe the guestbook table? Who knows. I had one made for my maid of honor Ashley, for her bridal shower last year and it turned out so cute I knew I wanted one of my own.

With all the super creative and different ideas out there for wedding 'guestbooks' I decided to put things in reverse and be different by actually choosing the traditional guestbook! Ha, how about that? I chose this gold metallic dreamy one from Jenni Bick. It made Oprah's Favorite Things list years back so you know it must be good.

Here we have some vintage playing cards to use as table numbers. I will most likely stick them in one of the flower arrangements on the tables. And the too cute for words heart stickers in light pink and kraft paper brown are for envelope closures for our invites. It's the little details!

Looking like an Etsy wedding so far...

I can't get over the fact that hundreds of wedding options are at my fingertips on Etsy. And I am supporting handmade. Yahoo for that. None married gals are surprised at what I've bought so far, married gals keep reassuring me to start early. My wedding checklist can now cross off a few items.

My nephew, our ring bearer, will carry this pillow down the aisle. 

There is a pocket sewn onto the back of it!

Mrs. my-soon-to-be-new last name made into an adorable 

hanger that will bear my wedding dress on the big day!

This isn't a necessity, but this To Have and To Hold tote will be perfect

for carrying my wedding binder to and from vendor meetings.

And something on the real checklist? We hired our kick ass photographer. Huge relief? Check.

Ashley's Shower (Or in other words, how Etsy stays in business) Part 1

On Saturday I threw my friend her bridal shower at my house.
