Hi friends, I am going to take a break from this blog for awhile. I just am not feeling it lately. Might be the winter blues, might be something else? Either way, I hope to see you soon. Love, Holly

Thinking of the sun
This beach bag isn't helping, either. Although I'm just dreaming, because there is a strict price policy on beach bags around here and it isn't $300. Only 40 days until the first day of Spring!

I have found my staple soup
It's weird, you can read one blog telling you one thing and you think nothing of if, and then another blog says the same thing and then you reconsider. I guess that's how it was with this soup. Originally spotted on Orangette. Although, I used the version from the New York Times, but with only one cup of water. Oh, you want to know what it's called? Spicy Red Lentil Soup with Lemon. Really simple ingredients and so healthy for you, I suppose if I didn't use my homemade chicken stock it would have been vegan. I also made an amazing broccoli cheddar soup this week, but you kind of need to hit the gym afterwards. And don't worry, you don't really need to use an immersion blender, I just left it "chunky" and it was delicious. This soup is so good you don't need to top it off with a sprinkle of cheese or grab bread for dipping, somehow that would do it wrong.

Merry Holidays
I have been struggling to blog lately. This week is no exception. Posting will be sparse!

Reading is good, can we start the story now...
My current book wish list looks like this. Any you've read? Any I shouldn't waste my time with?
P.S. Totally not pregnant, totally not trying. Just gotta be prepared, ya know?

::Crickets::
I kind of thought it might happen, after the momentum of wedding blogging ended and the beginning of cold weather (i prefer summer, thank you) I have reached a bit of a blogging slump. Hoping to turn that around. Maybe I need to finally join Pinterest like the rest of the world. Anything of interest to you lately?

Weekend Scenes
Green tea after re-trying on my wedding dress with my mom and future MIL. Nothing like moms to make you feel better about your decision. (Unless of course you are one of the poor girls on Say Yes to the Dress.) And I wish I was posting the pictures of me in the dress and not this mug of tea, but it sort of seems like an unwritten rule not to?
Mojito lime aide and chicken sandwich from Summer Kitchen Bake Shop in Berkeley. Serious yum.The garnish was a few pickled cauliflower.
Pizza with caramelized onions, arugula and Parmesan. Simple and amazing. Oh and have we noticed how I don't do anything in winter weekend scenes except eat? Ah, how I despise the cold weathered months. I cannot wait for the weather to warm, get outside and do things!
We are finally tackling the hallway! It has been the one thing in the house we never painted after moving in, almost two years ago. We decided on the top swatch. Jon has been replacing all the trim around the doors in the hallway and the darker paint on the walls should really make his trim work pop! Oh, and we totally aren't painting because I'm throwing a lil baby shower at my house next month. ;)
We are about a month away from Valentine's Day but we already got treats up the wazoo.
