38 weeks
Here I am, 38 weeks pregnant, after my last day of work before my maternity leave starts, looking ready to pop. The spicy Indian food didn't get anything going, but it was delicious, so not a total loss. I am so ready to have this baby! After a long walk on Sunday morning I got a sharp cramp and had to sit down in a nearby park. I started to feel nauseous even. I thought, "this is it! This is the start of labor!" But, no dice. I need to do some soul searching because I certainly could be sitting here writing another one of these posts in two weeks. At my last doctor's appointment I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, let's hope that progresses even more by Wednesday at my next appointment. Question. Have any of you or women you know have had their membranes swept? Let me know!

Thinking of you! Can't wait to see a picture of your sweet little boy!
I had it done at my 40 week appt. which was 4 days before I got induced. It hurt a lot! And for me it didn't send me into labor or help me dilate much more. But I think it's definitely worth a try and it only takes a few seconds. Hope that little man makes his debut soon!
Ohmygosh you're so close Holly! You are the cutest preggie lady ever!!
ummm all i can focus on is how cute your jean jacket is! gap??
i'm so upset i forgot to pack mine. such an idiot.
...
keeping my fingers crossed that baby is making his way out asap!!
You look so great!! :) How this little guy makes his way into the world soon!! :) XOXO
*Hope
One of my good friends had hers swept at her 38th week appt and was in labor within 5 hours and had her daughter by the next morning! I'm having mine swept next Monday if my little man hasn't arrived yet!
I had mine swept and it actually did help move things along. It does hurt a bit but it's fast and then done with. Good luck you're going to do great!!
Still so stylish!! The bump suits you... but i hope it disappears soon and a lil bubba can take the place in photos instead :) xx
Girl, I definitely know how you feel! I thought I would FOR SURE be early but week 39 and 40 rolled around before I went into labor. The doc did sweep my membranes, but I had to be dilated enough in order for him to try it. I didn't go into labor after, but maybe it did help allow me to do it on my own, as opposed to being induced? Not sure! Hang in there...you'll get to meet your little bundle soon enough!!
You look so great Holly! Can't wait to see your little man - I know he'll be too cute.
i finished work last friday! i basically sit around wondering if every little movement is going to be the start. i'm so over this being pregnant but at the same time terrified to have a child! i'm also pretty uncomfortable at this point, some pains with walking. i tried having spicy pizza on my last day of work and that didn't work either :(
So stylish at 38 weeks! Can't wait to see pictures of your little fella soon!
Eeee! I am on pins and needles about baby Jonas' arrival! :) BUT... I know you are anxious, try and relax and enjoy these last days of quiet (you will long for them once the baby comes)... Go to the movies, nap, enjoy date nights, do all the things you soon won't be able to do as easily. Trust me, you will be plenty busy soon enough :) That said, I think he will be here soon.. You are about the same amount dialated and effaced as I was when I got to the hospital! xxoo xxoo
btw I wrote this whole long ass comment yesterday, and just as I was about to press send Joaquin banged on the keyboard and deleted it.. Welcome to motherhood ;)
oh my gosh!!! you are ADORABLE!! so excited for you!
i am getting so excited for the two of you!!!
