This is how every good trip should start.
On the plane, almost there and we get Macadamia nuts and a complimentary Mai Tai. Now we're talking. On our flight they did a contest of who had been married the longest and shortest. Leaving the Monday after our Saturday wedding, you'd think we'd have a decent shot. Nope, some hussy across our aisle shouted "19 hours!!" Boy was I happy when she didn't win.
I've never been so happy to be in humidity! Hooray, we made it! Watch us get tan from here...
There we go. A real Mai Tai. I didn't wait long. Drinking rum drinks takes me back to age 18-21ish. Tell me I wasn't the only one who used to drink Parrot Bay and such?
After lunch we saved room for a little Shave Ice. Syrupy and delicious.
Then we hit up a farmers market and got our first of many pineapples and avocados. The avocados in Maui are huge and the pineapples are the most fragrant ever.

Is this staged? I mean really, so pretty. I loved all the dried leis everywhere.
That's all of Day 1, now we are falling into island mode and the real fun begins!
By the way, it feels good to be back, I missed everyone!

Um, no, I can guarantee you you're not the only one who when through that 18-21 rum phase. My liver is proof that I had a strong love for Malibu in college. Gross.
Anyway, so happy to start checking out your wedding/honeymoon shots! Hawaii looks like heaven!
Yay! So excited to see your trip. It looks absolutely gorgeous! I have to admit I've never had a mai tai, but am totally guilty of drinking parrot bay and malibu in my teenage years. Yuck!
Sigh.... this brings me back. Loved every picture! Glad you're back and had a wonderful time! Can we all just move to Hawaii please?

You weren't the only hussy that drank parrot bay! The smell makes me want to vom. It's like drinking suntan lotion.
So glad I suggested Bloody Marys to you a few years ago. I start all of my trips the same way. Your pics make me want to give Hawaii another shot. Maui looks gorgeous.
