So, I recently found out that the peach orchard that was going to be the source for our wedding pies has come down with a disease this season. Our wedding is in one month and we don't have a dessert figured out. I think I'm in denial. There is no point in getting peaches from elsewhere and still making the pies since the whole point was that they were coming from the orchard on the property where we are getting married. And since I don't even like pie, there really isn't a point in going forward. Which brings us to cake. Butter cream all the way, no fondant. And I am all for having a smallish one to display and sheet cakes hidden in the back somewhere to cut costs. But shopping for a vendor this late in the game is making me cringe. Deep breath. Wish me luck...
