One of the highlights of our trip was going to the famous BBQ restaurant about 30 minutes outside of Austin,
The Salt Lick. Every Austinite we asked for recommendations had this on their list and with over 1,100 Yelp reviews, we knew we had to make the trip.
Waiting for our table in this gorgeous setting, with a country band playing and Jon drinking one of his BYOBeers. We saw the BYOB concept at another place in Austin, too cool! Wish places here did that.
Brisket for me and pulled pork sandwich for Jon.
The cute rustic setting. Did I mention this was in Driftwood, Texas?! Say that with an accent, y'all.
We are not big meat eaters, and when we do, we mostly prepare chicken or turkey at home.
But DAMN, this was good.

Very cool! I feel like I've seen that place on tv like a dozen times but I've never been. If I make it out there again I'll definitely hit it up!

Ahhh so good! My friend and I got food to go there, because we were kind of in a rush and didn't want to wait an hour to sit. The brisket sandwich I got melted in my mouth, I almost passed out it was so good. Its worth the trip out of the city.
oh my gosh, why don't they have restaurants like that where i live?!
