Basil Aioli

You all know Orangette, right? If not, hop over now, its a wonderful food blog that should be your top read blogs. Anyway. I finally made something she posted on there, and it did not disappoint. Basil Aioli, perfect for summer parties when you want to bring the tried and true chips/dip or veggies/dip but don't want to bring the chemical laden dip that comes with those tacky trays. This is for you!

So bummed the basil from my garden hasn't really taken off,
had to use this frozen basil from Trader Joes.

Cute or creepy?

Molly Wizenberg's recipe.
Really simple, anyone can do this.

And the color is pretty nice too!
Even my 3-year old nephew was eating this.

The frozen basil looks somewhat suspect, but the finished result more than makes up for it. I'm totally craving this right now, what have you done?!

So weird! I just saw those weirdo basil cubes in a magazine last night. Fortunately for me my basil is exploding so I've been putting it on EVERYTHING! :)

The cubes are weird but they work like a charm, I always use those when I don't have fresh basil around.

HEY! don't diss the trays...they come in handy when you're lazy and don't feel like making anything :)

but that aoli looks bomb!

the cubes, on the other hand, kinda creepy.
