Dyed Doily Banner

A good way to make a quick and dirty banner is to fold over baking
doilies and glue onto a string. But I decided to up the ante and dye the doilies first.
Follow along.

Baking doilies, you can find them at Michael's.

Dye bath. I used good ole RIT dye. Add water and some salt.

Here is the catch. You can't leave them in there too long or they
will get soggy and tear. That also means they don't take on very
vibrant colors. Shucks.

Now, after you let them dry you are going to need an icy beer.
The putting-together-steps are pretty tedious.

And there you have it, your quick and dirty banner with a little bit of color.
Not pictured is the big daddy doilies, I'm saving that for a party.
